Taking a Breather While ‘My Perspective’ Takes Off
On Publishing, Burnout, and the Next Chapter of This Journey
“My Perspective” is becoming a book.
I was deep in thought, hammering out a new blog post for the decision-making series, when my phone pinged, interrupting my flow. Muttering, I checked the notification, wondering who dared disturb the maestro. (Truthfully, I was blankly staring at the wall, struggling to finish the series’ conclusion before I kick off the next one, “What to Do Once the Decision is Made.”)
The call was from Bruce, my publisher. Years back, he helped me launch A Concise Guide to Better Decisions, so I assumed he wanted to catch up about that. But I was wrong.
After some friendly catching-up, Bruce cut to the chase: “I like following your blog. Let’s make it a book.” After a few femtoseconds of contemplation, I agreed. Bruce and I have worked together for years and have a strong friendship and high trust, so it only took a quick chat about file formats before I sent over all my posts from the last year. Now, he and his team are diving into edits, and there’s more to come, so stay tuned!
But First, a Vacation.
Lately, I've noticed I’m nearing burnout. Working on complex AI prompts, mainly for educators, has been one of the most intellectually demanding projects I’ve taken on—fun, yes, but utterly draining. At the end of each day, I feel like a wrung-out dishrag.
The AI tools I’ve created cover everything from fact-checking to personal aides. In the process, I’ve earned a lot of Experience—the kind you gain by making every possible mistake…usually more than once. Some of these tools will be ready for you soon, so keep an eye out if you’re into AI. But I digress.
The point? It’s time for a breather. Officially “retired,” I have no excuse. I’m taking responsibility for my own mental health, so I’m pausing this blog for a couple of weeks. When I’m back, I’ll have fresh insights on turning decisions into the results you want—maybe even a prompt or two to share.
Stay tuned for updates on the book and AI tools—until then,
That’s My Perspective.
